The RPGSU relies on volunteers to function. The responsibilities of volunteers range from positions only active during events to those involved in the creative process of setting up, developing and organizing each event. Below is a simple overview of the roles currently open. Other positions will be opened as we move to host an on-site event.

Tech

As part of the tech team, you will be responsible for the smooth-sailing of the stream. You will help perfect the look and feel of the stream outside of events. During events, you’ll set up the runners and commentators and then monitor the runs to ensure all is going well.

Scheduling

As part of the scheduling team, you will be responsible for creating a schedule from the submissions received. During events, you’ll be managing the schedule to account for any changes that might happen, such as addition, replacement or removal of showcases.

Moderation

As part of the moderation team, you will be responsible for keeping an eye on the discord server and keeping the peace. During events, you will help manage the Twitch and YouTube chats.

Marketing

As part of the marketing team, you will be responsible for keeping our community up-to-date through social media and help promote our events.

External Relations

As part of the external relations team, you will be responsible for contacting other partner events and ensuring a good cooperative relationship with them. Given our mission to connect with Japanese events, if you are interested in Japanese speedrunning culture and/or speak Japanese, this might be the position for you!
